Creative Risk Residency

Sometimes all that's needed is a little risk!

About The Residency

Thanks to the generous support of Kaeja d'Dance, we are proud to partner and present the third annual Creative Risk Residency. The focus of this residency is to provide space, encouragement and support for emerging artists to take a step outside of their comfort zone. With one week of free studio space along with an award winning Kaeja as a personal mentor, this is your chance to take a shot at creating and exploring what you’ve always wanted. This residency also allows room for further development; with a showing in the Kaeja’s Wind Down Dance as well as The Festival 20 by New Blue Emerging Dance. Be bold, be daring and keep innovating!

The Creative Risk Residency offers TWO successful choreographers:

  • 13.5 hours of free studio space over one intensive week the Fall of 2019.
  • Access to professional archival equipment (video camera etc.)
  • Personal mentorship by Allen or Karen Kaeja
  • A showing of the work at Wind Down Dance on Saturday, November 2nd 2019
  • A chance to present a finalized work at The Festival 20 in June 2020

2018/2019 Residency Artists: Kirsten Sullivan and Krista Newey
